Sinister Spinach Puffs
Ingredients
- 1 sheet Puff pastry, thawed (approx. 230 calories)
- 1 tsp Activated charcoal powder (0 calories)
- 1 cup Spinach, finely chopped (7 calories)
- 1/2 cup Ricotta cheese (216 calories)
- 1/2 cup Shredded mozzarella (170 calories)
- 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan (110 calories)
- 1 clove Garlic, minced (4 calories)
- 1 large Egg, beaten (70 calories)
- 1 tbsp Olive oil (120 calories)
- Pinch Salt and pepper to taste (0 calories)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Evenly sprinkle the activated charcoal powder over it and gently knead until combined, then re-roll to the original size.
- Cut the pastry into 6 equal squares and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the spinach, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Place a heaping tablespoon of the spinach mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the corners of each square towards the center to enclose the filling, pinching the edges to seal.
- Arrange the puffs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each with beaten egg for a glossy finish.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
