After the death of her husband, Alice travels to the remote home of her in-laws looking for comfort and some time with the family she married into. Instead, the gathering becomes another chapter in the long and bloody history of the Deadites.
One by one, members of the family are transformed by a demonic force. Grief gives way to survival as Alice finds herself trapped among people who may still look familiar, but are becoming increasingly dangerous.
Souheila Yacoub stars as Alice, alongside Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, George Pullar, Erroll Shand, and Maude Davey. Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, Evil Dead Burn continues the franchise with a standalone story rather than returning to Ash Williams or the characters at the centre of the previous films.
The film brings the horror back to an isolated family home, where possession turns relationships into vulnerabilities. The Deadites know who their victims love, what they fear, and exactly how to use those connections against them.
Like the more recent entries in the franchise, Evil Dead Burn leans heavily into brutal supernatural horror. Love, death, family bonds, and the inability of the dead to remain properly dead give the film plenty of gothic territory to work with.
