Area 51 is a long-running alternative nightclub in Salt Lake City with deep roots in Utah’s goth and industrial community. Open since 1998, the multi-level club offers several dance floors and spaces with music ranging from goth, industrial, EBM, and darkwave to new wave, alternative, electronic, and ’80s favourites.
The club has hosted dedicated goth and industrial nights for decades, along with fetish events, themed parties, DJs, and other alternative programming. Area 51 is also the longtime home of the Dark Arts Festival of Utah, an annual celebration of goth and industrial culture featuring music, art, fashion, and vendors.
