The series combines supernatural horror, action, slapstick, and buckets of gore without losing the strange charm that has followed Evil Dead since the original film.

Few television shows arrive with stronger horror credentials. Ash vs Evil Dead brings the world of Evil Dead to television, complete with demonic possession, forbidden texts, ancient evil, grotesque monsters, blood-soaked practical effects, and the Necronomicon at the centre of the chaos.
Its approach is deliberately ridiculous, but the supernatural mythology underneath the comedy remains surprisingly rich. The series plays with occult rituals, demons, death, resurrection, possession, and humanity’s unfortunate habit of reading mysterious ancient books despite generations of evidence suggesting this is a terrible idea.
