Roland Deschain’s pursuit of the Dark Tower continues on the shores of the Western Sea. Injured by strange creatures that emerge from the water and weakened by their poison, the gunslinger soon discovers three mysterious doors standing alone on the beach.
Each doorway leads into the mind and life of someone living in New York at a different point in time. Through them, Roland encounters Eddie Dean, a young man struggling with heroin addiction, and Odetta Holmes, a woman whose life is complicated by a dangerous second personality known as Detta Walker.
Roland believes these strangers are the companions he must draw into his world to continue his journey toward the Dark Tower. But bringing them together proves dangerous, and Roland must survive his own worsening condition while confronting the conflicts each new companion carries with them.
The Drawing of the Three expands Roland’s journey beyond Mid-World and begins forming the group that will accompany him on the long road toward the Tower.
