Roland Deschain continues his journey toward the Dark Tower with Eddie and Susannah Dean at his side. After finding the Path of the Beam, a route that leads toward the Tower, the group begins following it across the increasingly strange and dangerous landscape of Mid-World.
Their ka-tet soon grows as Jake Chambers returns to Roland’s world, while a strange billy-bumbler named Oy becomes another loyal companion. Together, they continue along the Beam toward the devastated city of Lud.
Lud brings new dangers, including the violent Gasher and the Tick-Tock Man. Beyond the city waits another threat: Blaine the Mono, an intelligent train whose mind has deteriorated into madness.
With Roland’s ka-tet beginning to take shape, The Waste Lands expands their journey across Mid-World and carries the group deeper into the strange forces surrounding the Dark Tower.
