Roland Deschain and his ka-tet are travelling toward the Dark Tower when a deadly storm forces them to take shelter. As they wait for the weather to pass, Roland tells his companions a story from his younger years.
Soon after the events that took him to Mejis, a teenage Roland was sent with fellow gunslinger Jamie DeCurry to investigate a series of brutal killings blamed on a mysterious shape-shifting creature. During the investigation, Roland encounters a frightened young survivor and tells him a story from his own childhood called “The Wind Through the Keyhole.”
That tale follows a boy named Tim Ross, whose search for the truth about his father’s death sends him into a dangerous world of magic, deception, strange creatures, and powerful forces.
Built as a story within a story, The Wind Through the Keyhole returns to Roland’s past while adding another piece of folklore and history to the world of the Dark Tower.
