Four longtime friends, Henry, Jonesy, Beaver, and Pete, reunite for their annual hunting trip at a remote cabin in the Maine woods. Their friendship stretches back to childhood, when they rescued a boy named Duddits from a group of bullies and formed a bond that left them with unusual abilities.
Their hunting trip takes a frightening turn when a disoriented stranger arrives at the cabin showing signs of a bizarre illness. Soon, the surrounding area is placed under military quarantine as an extraterrestrial threat begins spreading through the region.
As the infection grows, the friends discover that the abilities connecting them may be essential to understanding what is happening. Their struggle eventually leads them back to Duddits and the childhood bond that has followed them into adulthood.
With the military attempting to contain the outbreak and an alien presence threatening to spread beyond the quarantine zone, the friends are forced into a fight that reaches far beyond their isolated cabin.
