“Fair Extension” introduces a dying man who is offered an extraordinary bargain, provided he is willing to let someone else pay the price. In “A Good Marriage,” a woman makes a horrifying discovery about the husband she has shared her life with for more than twenty years.
Connected by themes of retribution and the darker impulses people can hide from those closest to them, the stories in Full Dark, No Stars find much of their horror in what people are capable of doing to one another.
