Edited by Hans-Åke Lilja, Shining in the Dark brings together horror stories from Stephen King and a collection of established voices in dark fiction. Created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Stephen King website Lilja’s Library, the anthology mixes original stories, rare works, and horror classics.
Stephen King’s contribution, “The Blue Air Compressor,” is an early story about a writer whose relationship with an unusual woman takes an increasingly disturbing turn.
The collection also features stories by Clive Barker, Jack Ketchum, P. D. Cacek, Stewart O’Nan, Bev Vincent, Brian Keene, Richard Chizmar, Ramsey Campbell, Brian James Freeman, and John Ajvide Lindqvist, alongside Edgar Allan Poe’s classic “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
