Fronted by Indigenous artist Gregg Deal (Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe), the band uses music as a platform to challenge narratives, confront history, and amplify conversations around identity, resilience, and resistance.
Born from Deal’s performance art project The Punk Pan-Indian Romantic Comedy, Dead Pioneers grew into a full-force punk band built on urgency, honesty, and community. With driving guitars, explosive live energy, and lyrics that refuse to shy away from difficult conversations, their sound blends the spirit of punk with a First Peoples perspective.
