Rob Zombie is an American industrial metal and heavy metal artist known for combining heavy riffs, electronic elements, horror samples, and an unmistakably theatrical visual style.

After fronting White Zombie from the 1980s through the band’s breakup in 1998, Zombie launched his solo career with Hellbilly Deluxe. Released that same year, the album established the sound and imagery that would define much of his solo work, with songs including “Dragula,” “Living Dead Girl,” and “Superbeast.”

His music draws heavily from horror films, exploitation cinema, classic monsters, science fiction, hot rod culture, and the stranger corners of American pop culture. Movie dialogue and samples frequently appear alongside distorted guitars, pounding rhythms, electronic production, and lyrics filled with monsters, machines, violence, and B-movie imagery.

Albums including The Sinister Urge, Educated Horses, Hellbilly Deluxe 2, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor, The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser, and The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy have continued to develop that mix of metal, industrial sounds, and horror-soaked spectacle.

The visual side of Rob Zombie has always been closely tied to the music. Elaborate stage productions, costumes, monsters, video screens, pyrotechnics, and horror imagery have made live performance a major part of the project’s identity. His background in filmmaking and visual art also regularly crosses into his music videos, album artwork, and stage presentation.

For listeners drawn to the intersection of heavy music and horror culture, Rob Zombie has become one of the most recognizable names in the genre. His solo career carries forward many of the ideas introduced with White Zombie while developing a musical and visual identity entirely its own.
